Detoxification is a period of medically monitored withdrawal from alcohol and other drugs. Treatment in a medical setting is necessary to prevent medical complications, discomfort and anxiety. 

Gosnold uses a variety of medications to treat withdrawal to minimize discomfort and avert complications.  Care is managed by our clinical team, which includes physicians, nurses, counselors and recovery aides ”all trained and practiced in addiction treatment.  The length of detoxification treatment is dependent on the severity of the withdrawal and other medical conditions.  Following medical stabilization patients are referred to continuing care programs.

Many of our substance abuse treatment services are available at no cost or a low cost through the funding of our federal, state and local partners.

Substance abuse treatment fees are based on a sliding scale ability to pay basis.
